Research Overview

Psychology is defined as the scientific study of behavior and mental processes, and this means that scientific research is at the core of our discipline. The IUPUI Psychology Department is one of only 5% of all the psychology departments in the United States that exists within a school of science with biology, chemistry, physics, geology, mathematics, and computer science. Most other psychology departments are in schools of liberal arts or liberal arts and sciences.

The department has established the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Center and collaborative partnerships with units across campus as well as with organizations in the community. As early as their freshman year, our undergraduates are able to participate in research with renowned faculty. No other program provides the cross-disciplinary research and learning environment that IUPUI offers our students.
